Louis Gonzalez: Graduate Story | Recording Arts

Meet Louis Gonzalez, a Recording Arts and Show Production program graduate at F.I.R.S.T. Institute in Orlando, FL.

Growing up, Louis was always immersed in the world of music. He vividly remembers spending time with his father (a musician himself), who would go on to teach him how to sing and play instruments.

Louis Takes an Educational Leap

Louis’s path to F.I.R.S.T. began when his daughter was born. As he held his newborn in the hospital room, he thought to himself, “What can I do to make her life better?”

He started trawling the internet, looking for schools that could advance his career. F.I.R.S.T. Institute seemed to fit him best.

At first, he was nervous about attending the Recording Arts and Show Production program. He felt a bit intimidated in the beginning. But after a while, he settled into his classes and fit right into the curriculum.

He credits the methods the instructors used to teach him and the family environment that always kept him motivated with his comfort. It was the perfect environment for learning how to make music.

The Best Part of Attending F.I.R.S.T. Institute Music School

Louis says his favorite part about attending the Orlando audio school was the recording arts portion of the program.

He loved working hands-on with authentic audio equipment that he couldn’t have accessed otherwise — “working the boards” and learning how to make something sound better.

After graduation, the F.I.R.S.T. alumni started the LIFE podcast, which stands for Living Independent and Functioning in our Environment. He also teamed up with other artists to create The Kommission Music Group also known as TKMG.

They’ve already signed two artists. One just won a showcase and is preparing to run his album through the quality control process. The goal is to get the artist into the South by Southwest Music Festival.

From there, the possibilities are limitless.

Louis’ 20-Year Goals

Where does Louis see himself 20 years from now? He wants to own his own building that acts as TKMG’s headquarters, as well as his own radio station.

His goal is to branch out as far as he can, to build TKMG “until the wheels fall off.”

Without his recording arts and live sound education from F.I.R.S.T. Institute, the management company co-owner wouldn’t know any of the software or microphones he works with on a day-to-day basis. It was through this education that he’s now able to create radio quality music.

Getting an education and building a professional background through F.I.R.S.T. is what helped Louis Gonzalez succeed at his current music business ventures. He says it’s one of the best decisions he’s ever made because it validated what he really loves… making music.

Gonzalez says: “If you really love this industry, just do it. There’s no reason to wait.”

There’s no time to wait either. See what F.I.R.S.T. Institute can do for you!
